Do these converters upload my files?
No. Everything on this page happens in the tab — WebAssembly for HEIC and AVIF, the browser for the rest. The file stays on your computer. If a site asks you to paste a URL or create an account first, that’s a different product.
Which formats can I convert?
You can drop in PNG, JPG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, SVG, HEIC or ICO, and get PNG, JPG, WebP, AVIF, ICO or PDF back. That’s 49 converters. Pick what you have in the table, then what you want.
Is image.dev free?
Yes. No account, no watermark, no daily limit. It runs on your machine, so there’s nothing for me to charge.
Will the image look worse after converting?
PNG, ICO and SVG → PNG don’t throw pixels away. JPG, WebP and AVIF compress again; at the default quality you won’t see it after one conversion. Don’t keep re-saving a photo through those formats for fun — each time costs a little.
Why a separate page for each conversion?
Because people search “heic to jpg”, not “generic converter”. Each page is for one destination, with notes for that conversion, and the same private pipeline. This page is just the list. The tool is the next click.
Does HEIC actually work in the browser?
Yes. libheif, compiled to WebAssembly, opens iPhone photos in the tab. That’s why HEIC → JPG is here: those are usually personal pictures, and they shouldn’t go to a server just to become a JPG.
