Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

Your images are never uploaded. Every conversion runs inside your browser via WebAssembly — the files you drop in never leave your device, and no server (ours or anyone else’s) receives them.

The short version

image.dev is a set of image tools that run entirely on your device. There is no upload, no account, and no server that processes your images. This page explains the little data the website itself involves.

Your images

All conversion, compression and resizing happens locally in your browser using WebAssembly. Your files are read into memory on your device, processed there, and offered back to you as a download. They are never transmitted to us or to any third party. When you close or reload the tab, they’re gone.

What the site collects

Anonymous usage analytics. We use a privacy-friendly, self-hosted analytics tool (OpenPanel) to understand which tools are used and where visitors come from. It records aggregate events such as page views, referring sites, approximate country, and browser or device type. It does not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or share this data.

Local storage on your device. Your theme choice, language, and whether you’ve dismissed a banner are stored in your browser’s local storage. This never leaves your device and is not sent to us.

Hosting and delivery

The website’s pages — not your images — are served through Cloudflare (a content delivery network) in front of a server hosted on Hetzner. As with any website, these providers may transiently process technical request data such as your IP address and browser user-agent to deliver pages and protect against abuse. No image data ever passes through them.

Cookies

The tools themselves don’t require cookies. Analytics may use a device identifier to avoid counting the same visit twice; it is not used to track you across other websites.

No accounts, no personal data

We don’t ask you to sign up, and we don’t knowingly collect names, emails, or other personal information. Because there’s nothing to sign into, there’s nothing for us to lose.

Children

The site is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
